Green Flag Initiative
You might be wondering – what is a Green Flag and why would the school want one? Green Flags are awarded to schools all over Ireland by Green-Schools Ireland, part of a world-wide programme to encourage environmental awareness and protection.

The Green Flag is a symbol to show that the school is working hard to protect the environment in different ways. It is also a sign to everyone of the hard work put in by the boys, staff and parents.

We have earned a Green Flag for Litter and Waste and we earned a second Green Flag for Energy. This is thanks to all the hard work of the Green Team, all the children and staff and parents in St Vincent’s coming together.  We are very proud of our hard work.  Members of our committee went to the Helix in DCU in May 2019 to be awarded our second Green Flag. We then had a big party in school to raise our flag high into the sky.

This year we are working towards our third green flag for Water!
